Mr. Holland Hargrove started formal piano and organ lessons at the age of four from his uncles' Earl and Earnest Hargrove. One year later, Mr. Hargrove gave his first performance on the organ for offertory during Sunday morning service at Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ in Washington D.C. Mr. Hargrove was also a member of the Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ's Junior, Youth, Senior, and Male Choirs. He has performed at several churches including Lomax A.M.E. Zion Church, Arlington Virginia where he served as pianist for devotional service. He has also played for numerous talent shows, civic programs, Greek Organizations, and was the featured artist on two concerts with the DC Boys Choir throughout the Washington Metropolitan area. He appeared in "The Three Hargroves" concert on organ and piano and also gave two recitals.
Mr. Hargrove is a 2004 Honor Graduate of Gonzaga College High School, Washington, DC. At Gonzaga he participated in the music curriculum. He played trombone in the Wind Ensemble, Liturgical Ensemble, Honors Ensemble, and Jazz Ensemble and attended Vienna Band Camp to further his studies in trombone. To broaden his music knowledge he also attended music workshops which include organ, piano, youth and adult choir repertoire. As a result of one of these workshops, Spectrum Music Workshop, he was given the opportunity by Bruce Neswick to practice on the Washington area's largest organ at the Washington National Cathedral. He also took Applied Piano Studies at Gonzaga with Mr. Jeremy Young, and performed twice a year in the mid-day music concerts, which some of the concerts were given at local community centers. He also studied piano with Dr. Raymond T. Jackson, Professor at Howard University.
Mr. Hargrove was awarded a full tuition and fee scholarship to the University of Virginia where he received a Bachelor of Urban and Environmental Planning, a Bachelor of Arts in Music, and a Minor in Architecture. During college, Mr. Hargrove served on the Praise and Worship team for the Impact Movement on the UVA campus, and also as the Children, Youth, and Sanctuary Choir directors at Mt. Zion First African Baptist Church in Charlottesville, VA.
Mr. Hargrove served as the Sanctuary Choir Director at Canaan Baptist Church from 2013 - 2020. In addition to this, Mr. Hargrove served as a keyboardist and Band Section Leader for the Praise and Worship team at Grace Covenant Church DC until June 2021. Mr. Hargrove has also played for various Young Adult, Youth, and Children's choirs both at Canaan and at many other churches throughout the District of Columbia area. Aside from his Musical employment, Mr. Hargrove is employed by the Federal Government as a Realty Specialist. In addition to his Federal Government Service, Mr. Hargrove is currently working to market and promote his Digital Musician Agency, named TiedNotes, an online service to help people locate quality musicians needed for their events, and musicians locate gig opportunities. Mr. Hargrove is excited about this service as he has been asked if he could take certain gigs, only to have already had that timeslot booked, and then asked to help the client locate another musician that could fulfill the need. This service simplifies the work, and gives the client a quick and efficient way to locate musicians across the Country.
Mr. Hargrove is very happily married to the extremely beautiful Porsha Hargrove, and the couple lives in Bowie, Maryland.
